Doctorsin a Canadian intensive care unit have stumbledon a very strange case - when life supportwas turned off for four terminal patients, oneof them showed persistent brain activity evenafter they were declared clinically dead.
Formore than 10 minutes after doctors confirmed deaththrough a range of observations, including theabsence of a pulse and unreactive pupils, thepatient appeared to experience the same kindof brain waves (delta wave bursts) we get duringdeep sleep.
