weak gravitational lensing  how galaxies held together hasbeen captured for the first time  The first image of a dark matter"bridge", believed to form the links between galaxies, has beencaptured by astrophysicists in Canada.  Researchers at the University ofWaterloo used a technique known as weak gravitational lensing to create acomposite image of the bridge. Gravitational lensing is an effect that causesthe images of distant galaxies to warp slightly under the influence of anunseen mass, such as a planet, a black hole, or in this case, dark matter.  https://academic.oup.com/mnras/article-lookup/doi/10.1093/mnras/stx517
