Yea...it's a bit more than I had in mind...maybe a recording of someone racking a shell in a shotgun...that's probably more my speed...
Actually, I have gone out looking wiht a friend of mine. the only shotgun that I could heft & hold was a junior sized one....haven't decided if it is time yet....

Nothing wrong with a bolt action 30.06 for longer range hunting. These were used as sniper rifles (1000 yd accuracy) from WW2 up through Vietnam. Trouble with a bolt gun is a second shot is hard to deliver quickly, which is why they were replaced by the M1 Garand and M1 carbine which were semi-auto.
In a home defense situation, it'll sure as heck get somebody's attention if you stick in their nose, I'm pretty sure of that. But it's a little tough to keep in a drawer by the bed or conceal on your belt, under your jacket.

.45 = caliber
ACP = Automatic Colt Pistol
I believe that the phrase refers to the "stopping
power" of the .45 caliber round. It injures (or kills) by hydrostatic
shock. The shooter's aim need not be precise to achieve the desired
results hence no need to fire a second time.
According to Wikipedia:
The result is one of the world's most effective combat pistol cartridges,
one that combines very good accuracy and stopping power for use
against human targets.[9]
The cartridge also has relatively low muzzle blast and flash, as well as
moderate recoil.
It's not a guy thing but rather a gun thing,
although the difference, in certain circles, is moot.
