Yes, Rik, these people do need to receive a message - just like the one "Blackjack" Pershing delivered when he was provost in the Philippines prior to WWI. After 50 Islamic terrorists had been tried and convicted and sentenced to be executed by a firing squad, Pershing instructed his soldiers to dip their cartridges in pig's blood and to bury the executed terrorists in graves filled with pig carcasses. (Check the Quran for their eligibility into "heaven.") However, he had only 49 executed. He had the 50th witness the proceedings and then had him released. Guess what? There weren't any further terrorist attacks during his tenure. Surprise, surprise. (Now, please don't tell me that such a response is unacceptable and inhuman unless you can first convince the family of Daniel Pearl and those whose loved ones have been executed "entertainment" style by fundamental Islamic who practiced the procedure of hooking a rope onto the condemned's intestines through his umbilical, tying the other end of it to a post, and then whipping him, forcing him to run around the post until he ripped his own intestines out.)

Had that been my airplane, there would have been a "door latch malfunction" the result of which was, unfortunately, Mr. Mudallad was sucked from the aircraft.
These people need to be given a message.

AP sources: Al-Qaida link in failed plane attack

Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON (AP) - U.S. officials say a Northwest Airlines passenger
from Nigeria said he was acting on behalf of al-Qaida when he tried to
blow up a flight Friday as it landed in Detroit.
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., identified the suspect as Abdul Mudallad, a
Nigerian. King said the flight began in Nigeria and went through
Amsterdam en route to Detroit.
One of the U.S. intelligence officials said the explosive device was a
mix of powder and liquid. It failed when the passenger tried to
detonate it.
The passenger was being questioned Friday evening.
Both of the officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the
investigation was continuing.
The motive of the Christmas Day attack was not immediately clear.

Many colleges claim that they develop "leaders." All too often, that means turning out graduates who cannot feel fulfilled unless they are telling other people what to do. There are already too many people like that, and they are a menace to everyone else's freedom. ...Thomas Sowell
